Beschreibung[en]

The present invention concerns a circular saw blade assembly for a saw mill or similar apparatus used for sawing boards from logs, said circular saw blade assembly comprising at least two circular saw blades attachable to and axially transferrable on a saw blade spindle as well as one or several edge milling cutters for shaping the board to a correct width.

Known in the art is a method for placing several circular saw blades axially transferrably on a common shaft (US 3,630,244). This arrangement has a drawback in that the gap between the adjacent circular saw blades does permit the placement of edge shaping cutters to correct width for the trimming of the boards, but instead, the milling of the edge must be performed as a separate workphase.

Also known in the art is an arrangement in which the edging of the log prior sawing is unnecessary and which makes the axial adjustment of spacing between the saw blades possible. One such implementation is disclosed in FI patent application 881402. The system described in the application comprises a circular saw blade assembly which has two circular saw blades on a spindle and the spindle hubs are further designed to act as cutters, whereby the cutter attached to the inner circular saw blade is formed into a cage supporting by its end side an inner circular saw blade, and the inner cutter supporting an outer circular saw blade by its end side is located axially transferrable inside the cage-like cutter and extends through the center hole of the inner circular saw blade.

Such an axially adjustable circular saw blade assembly has only two circular saw blades, whereby only a wane and a slab can be cut from a log. The construction of the circular saw blade assembly is complicated, thereby leading to high costs. One of the cutters has constantly a maximum width, which causes wasteful use of log material, and correspondingly, to unnecessary growth of expenses. In addition, the diametrical difference of the cutters is small, which limits their useful operating range.

It is an object of the present invention to achieve a circular saw blade assembly capable of overcoming the above-described drawbacks. The assembly in accordance with the invention is defined in the appended independent claim 1.

A preferred embodiment of the assembly in accordance with the invention is characterized in that both cutter elements are comprised of two diametrically oppositely placed cutter knives and that the adjacent cutter elements are phase-shifted by a 90° angle.

Another preferred embodiment of the method in accordance with the invention is characterized in that both cutter elements are comprised of three cutter knives diametrically spaced at 120° angle and that the adjacent cutter elements are phase-shifted by 60° angle.

A further another preferred embodiment of the method in accordance with the invention is characterized in that the cutter elements are attached to the circular saw blade by screw clamps and that the surface of the cutter element facing circular saw blade is flat.

The circular saw blade assembly in accordance with the invention offers an improved support of the blade between the flanges. All circular saw blades of the assembly are axially movable, whereby the edge cutter elements are simultaneously adjusted correspondingly, thus making it easy to alter the thickness of the board to be sawn without a need for changing the edge cutter elements. The construction of the assembly is simple and the edge cutter elements are replaceable, whereby the operation and maintenance of the assembly becomes advantageous. The diameter of an edge cutter element is not dependent on that of the other edge cutter elements, thus allowing for a free alteration of the element diameters. The number of the circular saw blades in the circular saw blade assembly in accordance with the invention is not limited, but instead, the same saw spindle can have several circular saw blades and independently operating edge cutter elements placed on it.

In the following, the invention will be examined in more detail with the help of a preferred exemplifying embodiment with reference to the attached drawings, in which

Fig. 1 shows a circular saw blade assembly comprising three circular saw blades 2, 5, 8 mounted on a saw spindle 1. Attached to the circular saw blades 2, 5, 8 are edge cutter elements 3. The pair of adjacent cutter elements 3, 4 forms an edge cutter. The edge cutter is axially adjustable along with the variable spacing of the circular saw blade 2, 5. An essential characteristic of the invention is that the cutter knives 6 of the edge cutter elements 3, 4 rotate axially coincidingly aligned along the same circle when the edge cutter is adjusted for minimum width, while the side edge of the cutter knife 6 of the cutter element 3 facing the cutter element 4 rotates axially coincidingly aligned with the side edge of the cutter knife 6 of the cutter element 4 facing the cutter element 3 when the edge cutter is adjusted for maximum width. Thus, for instance, when thicker boards are to be sawn, the circular saw blade 5 is moved farther away from the circular saw blade 2. Then, the edge cutter element 4 moves along with the circular saw blade 5, whereby the cutting width of the edge cutter is altered correspondingly. The cutter illustrated in the diagram between the circular saw blades 2 and 5 is shown adjusted to a nearly maximum width. Conversely, the cutter between the circular saw blades 5 and 8 is shown adjusted to a nearly minimum width.

Fig. 2 shows the circular saw blade 2, the edge cutter element 3 and the edge cutter element 4 attached to the adjacent circular saw blade in partially sectional view. The cutter knives 6 of the edge cutter elements 3, 4 are diametrically opposed on the same circle and the two cutter elements are phase-shifted by 90°.

For those versed in the art, it is obvious that the invention is not limited to the exemplifying embodiments described above; by contrast, the invention can be varied within the claims disclosed herein.


Anspruch[de]
  1. Kreissägeblattanordnung für eine Sägemaschine oder eine ähnliche Vorrichtung, die dem Sägen von Brettern aus Stämmen dient, wobei die Kreissägeblattanordnung wenigstens zwei Kreissägeblätter (2) umfaßt, die an einer Sägeblattspindel (1) angebracht und axial auf ihr verschoben werden können, um den Zwischenraum dazwischen zu verändern, sowie einen oder mehrere Kantenfräser, die das Brett auf eine richtige Breite bringen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der bzw. jeder Kantenfräser zwischen zwei benachbarten Kreissägeblättern (2,5) angeordnet ist und durch zwei Kantenfräserelemente (3,4), die jeweils zu einem entsprechenden der beiden Kreissägeblätter (2,5) gehören, gebildet wird, so daß die Elemente (3,4) in Beziehung zueinander axial verstellbar sind, wenn der Zwischenraum der Kreissägeblätter (2,5) verstellt wird, wobei jedes Fräserelement (3,4) einen Blockabschnitt (7) mit einem durch selbigen verlaufenden Loch zum Durchführen der Sägeblattspindel (1) umfaßt, sowie ein oder mehrere Fräsmesser (6), die an dem Blockabschnitt (7) vorhanden sind, wobei das bzw. wenigstens eines der Fräsmesser (6) über den Blockabschnitt (7) in einer Richtung parallel zur Achse der Sägeblattspindel (1) und von dem dazu gehörenden Sägeblatt weg vorsteht, wobei die Messer (6) der Fräserelemente (3,4) des bzw. jedes Kantenfräsers so ausgerichtet sind, daß sie, wenn sie sich drehen, den Umfang eines einzigen Fräszylinders zwischen den zwei benachbarten Kreissägeblättern bilden.
  2. Anordnung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß jedes Fräserelement (3,4) des bzw. jedes Kantenfräsers zwei einander diametral entgegengesetzt angeordnete Fräsmesser (6) umfaßt, und daß die Messer eines Fräserelementes (3,4) in bezug auf die Messer des anderen Fräserelements (4,3) in einem Winkel von 90° phasenverschoben sind.
  3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß jedes Fräserelement (3,4) des bzw. jedes Kantenfräsers drei Fräsmesser (6) umfaßt, die um das Fräserelement in einem Winkel von 120° winklig beabstandet sind, und daß die Messer eines Fräserelementes (3,4) in bezug auf die Messer des anderen Fräserelementes (4,3) in einem Winkel von 60° phasenverschoben sind.
  4. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Fräserelement (3) mittels Schraubklemmen an dem Kreissägeblatt angebracht ist, und daß die dem Kreissägeblatt (1) zugewandte Fläche des Fräserelementes (3) flach ist.

  1. A circular saw blade assembly for a saw mill or similar apparatus used for sawing boards from logs, said circular saw blade assembly comprising at least two circular saw blades (2) attachable to and axially moveable on a saw blade spindle (1) to vary the spacing therebetween and one or more edging cutters for shaping the board to a correct width, characterised in that the or each edging cutter is arranged between two adjacent circular saw blades (2,5) and formed by two edge cutter elements (3,4) each associated with a respective one of said two adjacent circular saw blades (2,5) so that the elements (3,4) are axially adjustable in relation to each other as the spacing of the circular saw blades (2,5) is adjusted, each cutter element (3,4) comprising a block section (7) having a hole extending therethrough for the passage of the saw blade spindle (1), and one or more cutter knives (6) provided on the block section (7), the or at least one of the cutter knives (6) projecting beyond the block section (7) in a direction parallel to the axis of the saw blade spindle (1) and away from the associated circular saw blade, the knives (6) of the cutter elements (3,4) of the or each edging cutter being aligned to define, when rotating, the circumference of a single cutting cylinder between said two adjacent circular saw blades.
  2. An assembly as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that each cutter element (3,4) of the or each edging cutter comprises two diametrically oppositely placed cutter knives (6) and that the knives of one cutter element (3,4) are phase-shifted by 90° angle relative to the knives of the other cutter element (4,3).
  3. An apparatus as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that each cutter element (3,4) of the or each edging cutter comprises three cutter knives (6) angularly spaced around the cutter element by 120° angle and that the knives of one cutter element (3,4) are phase-shifted by 60° angle relative to the knives of the other cutter element (4,3).
  4. An apparatus as claimed in any of claims 1...3, characterized in that the cutter element (3) is attached to the circular saw blade by screw clamps and that the surface of the cutter element (3) facing circular saw blade (1) is flat.

  1. Ensemble de lames pour scie circulaire pour une scierie mécanique ou appareillage similaire utilisé pour scier des planches à partir de grumes, ledit ensemble de lames pour scie circulaire comprenant au moins deux lames (2) de scie circulaire pouvant être attachées mobiles axialement sur un arbre (1) pour lames de scie pour varier l'espacement entre elles et un ou plusieurs couteaux de dressage pour raboter la planche à une largeur correcte, caractérisé en ce que le ou chaque couteau de dressage est disposé entre deux lames de scie circulaire adjacentes (2, 5) et formé par deux éléments (3, 4) de couteau de dressage, chacun associé respectivement avec l'une desdites deux lames de scie circulaire adjacentes (2, 5), de sorte que les éléments (3, 4) soient ajustables axialement l'un par rapport à l'autre lors de l'ajustement de l'espacement des lames de scie circulaire (2, 5), chaque élément de couteau (3, 4) comprenant une portion de bloc (7) ayant un trou traversant pour le passage de l'arbre (1) pour lames de scie, et un ou plusieurs fers (6) de couteau prévus sur la portion de bloc (7), le ou au moins l'un des fers (6) de couteau se projetant au-delà de la portion de bloc (7) dans une direction parallèle à l'axe de l'arbre (1) pour lames de scie et opposée à la lame associée de la scie circulaire, les fers (6) des éléments de couteau (3, 4) du ou de chaque couteau de dressage étant alignés pour définir, en rotation, la circonférence d'un cylindre de coupe unique entre lesdites deux lames de scie circulaire adjacentes.
  2. Ensemble selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que chaque élément de couteau (3, 4) du ou de chaque couteau de dressage comprend deux fers (6) de couteau placés en regard diamétralement et en ce que les fers d'un élément de couteau (3,4) sont décalés d'un angle de 90° par rapport aux fers de l'autre élément de couteau (4, 3).
  3. Appareillage selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que chaque élément de couteau (3, 4) du ou de chaque couteau de dressage comprend trois fers (6) de couteau espacés angulairement autour de l'élément de couteau d'un angle de 120° et en ce que les fers d'un élément de couteau (3, 4) sont décalés d'un angle de 60° par rapport aux fers de l'autre élément de couteau (4, 3).
  4. Appareillage selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1...3, caractérisé en ce que l'élément de couteau (3) est attaché à la lame de scie circulaire au moyen de fixations par vis et en ce que la surface de l'élément de couteau (3) en face de la lame (1) de scie circulaire est plane.
